Vicki Pomeroy

June 27, 1960 — October 16, 2024

This last Tuesday October 16th, the world lost a loving and beautiful wife and mother of three, after an almost two year long battle with Neuroendocrine Carcinoma. She passed in her sleep at home having been visited by countless family and friends. Vicki Ellen Pomeroy was born in Cheverly, Maryland to William John Anderson, Jr. and Doris Ellen Longanecker. At 19 she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis but she never let herself be beaten by it. Over the years, she lost her sight and ability to walk but she fought to regain both. She was a woman who defines the term selfless with over 30 years of volunteer experience working with multiple charities, including The National Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, F.O.D.A.C (Friends Of Disabled Adults and Children), and Roane County Medical Center. In her younger years, she worked as a property manager and businesswoman in Washington D.C. and assisted in granting patients with MS the right to have MS listed as their cause of death. After having her children, she won Boy Scout Leader of the Year for her son’s troop, worked on the Snellville County Festival Committee, and held monthly M.S. support groups at the local hospital. She wrote a monthly newspaper about M.S. that went out to multiple countries and she was the hospital’s go to referral for newly diagnosed patients for counseling and informational support.
