Teresa Ruth Wilke, passed away on January 12, 2024, in Knoxville, TN. Born on July 10, 1957, in Black Mountain, NC, Teresa's life was full of love, faith, and resilience that touched everyone who knew her.
The beach was Teresa's haven, a place where she found peace and happiness. Her happiest moments were spent with her toes in the sand, surrounded by the laughter of her family and friends. These cherished memories will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to accompany her on those sun-soaked adventures.
Teresa's legacy is carried on by her loving husband of 45 years, Patrick Wilke, who stood by her side through life's many chapters. Her daughters, Melissa Pooser (Nathaniel) and Amanda Grindle (Steven), will forever honor their mother's memory through the lessons of love and kindness she instilled in them. Teresa's role as a JoJo (Grandmother) to Maddox and Amelia Grindle was one of her most treasured roles.
She is predeceased by her father, John Burnette, her son, Curtis Wilke, and dear friends Martha Holt and Patricia Johnson all of whom she held dear to her heart. Teresa's spirit is also carried forward by her mother, Alene Burnette, who instilled in her the values of strength and compassion. Her brother, John Burnette (Anita), and sister, Kim Smith (Roger), Brothers and Sister-in-law, Terry Wilke (Tam), Jon Wilke (Stephanie), Phillip Wilke (Lei), Sally Reinemann (Tom) who will all remember Teresa as a guiding light and a source of unwavering support within their family.
Teresa's life was enriched by all her Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews, who she adored. Teresa was a Friend, Sister, and Mother to all she loved. Her presence was a gift, and the bonds she formed were as deep as they were genuine. She was a pillar for many, always ready to offer a kind word, a listening ear, or a helping hand.
In her journey through life, Teresa embodied the essence of courage. She faced challenges with grace and emerged with an even greater capacity for love. Her resilience was an inspiration, teaching those around her the power of facing life's storms with a faithful heart.
