Steven Sullivan

Steven James Sullivan passed from this life, in his home in Knoxville, TN
on January 24, 2024 at the age of 66.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, James R Sullivan and
is survived by his mother Barbara J Sullivan, his sister Pamela S Trousdale,
his younger brother Eric Sullivan, and by his daughter
Elizabeth Sullivan – Williamson, who resides in Pompano Beach, Florida.
Steve was born in Dodge City, Kansas to James Roger Sullivan and
Barbara (Lee) Sullivan. The family moved from Kansas to Tennessee in 1972.
They were pleasantly surprised by the incredible beauty of East Tennessee
and by the gracious and kind welcome they received from their new community.
Steve graduated from Cocke County High School in Newport, Tn in 1975, where he
was a popular student and an admired athlete who played football and baseball.
A few years later, he made a life-changing move to Ft Lauderdale, Florida where he
began a career as an HVAC technician and met and married Nancy Humbert.
Together, they had their daughter Elizabeth, who was always the “apple of his eye”.
Eventually, Steve moved back to East Tennessee where he helped his Dad
on the farm, feeding and caring for the menagerie of animals. He never
considered this as work, as he cared deeply for and had an enviable
connection to all animals. Steve’s favorite past time to spend with his family
and friends was boating, (and sometimes fishing) on beautiful Douglas Lake.
He never met a stranger and loved talking with everyone,
sharing stories about good times, and maybe even a few fish tales.
Steve was one of a kind and will be truly missed by his family and friends.
