Spencer Vacil Lee
October 8, 1986 – July 11, 2023
Spencer Vacil Lee passed away at home unexpectedly, in the early morning hours of July 11, 2023, from a heart grown too large for this life to contain.
Spencer was born in Morristown, TN. He is survivedby his Father - Vacil Thomas Lee of Morristown, and Mother - Angela Fannon Lee of Knoxville, as well as older Brother - Justin Lee (Lisa), of Knoxville TN,Titi(aunt) Annabelle & Jamiltha De Jesus, as well as a host of cousins and extended family both here, and abroad. He is also survived by his life brothers Kevin and Adam Helton of Morristown and his feline companion, LillyBell.
Spencer was preceded in death by grandparents Alfred Jacob Lee & Naomi (Parkey) Lee, of Whitesburg, TN. Aunt Iva Jean (Lee) Tucker and Uncle Cecil Lee both of Whitesburg, TN. As well as, Grandparents Bruce & Maudell (Johnson) Fannon of Morristown, TN, and Titi Jackie De Jesus & his Abuelo - Angel Espada De Jesus, both of Puerto Rico.
Spencer was well known in the community, but is best known for quick wit and a generous, kind heart. He lived to make others smile. Working for LazerShip allowed him to interact with so many people, while navigating the backroads of the Upper East Tennessee Mountain Byways that he cherished so very much, always stopping to take in the magnificent beauty around him, and shared it with us all in video and pictures daily. Always, with a note of encouragement, to stop and take in the miracles around us – that we so often take for granted. He will always be a beloved Son, Brother & Friend.
He was an exceptional Marksman and a previous member of the Morristown Trap Club and held numerous shooting awards. He was 1st runner up 2004 State Championship Trap Shoot Competition and shot in numerous pistol competitions. Spencer was a worthy opponent, well respected by his fellow marksmen – both teammates and competitors. He could stop a man in his tracks, but preferred to tame the savage heart of a feral kitten. He was an avid gardener and waited for Spring each year just as an Old Farmer might do, always sharing his abundance. In addition to his larger-than-life presence, he was an accomplished musician in guitar and keyboard, as well as an avid gamer. Spencer was a talented artist and a beautiful soul.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in memorial of Spencer to the Morristown Trap Club, insuring the education and interest of future generations of marksmen and women.
We encourage all to come celebrate Spencer’s larger than life existence and share a memory at the Horner-Douthery Pavilion at Cherokee Park in Morristown TN on Sunday, July 23, 2023 from 2-4 pm. Light potluck dishes.
