Sharon Kay (Martin) Reed age 62 passed away on August 18th, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on a Friday the 13th, 1961 to Claude (Chick) and Mary Adalene (Gilliam) Martin.
Sharon would like to be remembered for her enormous love of cats and hummingbirds. She took care of a major feral cat colony most of her adult life and, for her intelligence, carrying a 3.86 GPA in high school and named to the National Honor Society at Clinton high school in 1979. She excelled in sports basketball and softball for Mrs. Phyllis.
She worked for PJ and PA Wenk, DDS for 13 years to start her career and finished with John Burgess, DDS in 2009. She was commended by her employers and declared “one of the best.”
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, spouse of 33 years James “Jimmy Lee” Reed II, and brother Jerry Lynn Martin.
Survived by sons James Tyson, grandson James Tyler Reed, sister Cheryl and Schmidt, and brother Larry Wayne Martin. Also, several nieces and nephews. And we can't forget Callie her beloved cat companion of 10 years. Thanks to the Hospice team for their loving care in her last days.
Always remember she dearly loved her friends and family and wishes to thank everyone for all they did for her during her illness.
At Sharon’s request, she will be cremated with no service. She wishes for donations to go to the Little Ponderosa Zoo in memory of James Cox or to the ASPCA in her memory.
Sharon wrote her own obituary 2 weeks into her illness.
