Ronald Lohman

November 14, 1936 — June 5, 2022

Ronald John Lohman, 85, passed away on Sunday June 5, 2022. Ron was the husband of RoseMary (McLain) Lohman. They shared 63 years of marriage.

Ron was born in Sebastopol, CA, November 14, 1936. He was the son of John and Helen (Brashear) Lohman. The Lohman's moved to Pleasant Grove, Utah when Ron was 14. He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School, then attended Utah Valley Vocational School and served in the Utah National Guard for 8 years. At 19, Ron moved to the Arizona Navajo/Hopi Reservation where he served a two year proselytizing and service mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. Upon returning from his church service, he met and married RoseMary, with whom he shared six children, 21 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Ron was not afraid of change, embraced the unknown, and never stopped working. He was the eternal optimist and never considered any day or situation bad, just another challenge to figure out. He thought the best of others and carried a lot of trust in his heart. He would try to fix anything, even if all he had was duct tape. His optimism and positivity no doubt contributed to his lack of hospitalization until the time of his death. During his life, he lived in 7 states - eventually settling in Dandridge, TN where he and his wife lived for 30 years. Ron was a jack of many trades, with a career encompassing many industries including mechanical, sales, HVAC, logging, tourism and long haul truck driving. Then, to keep busy (and avoid yard work) he worked at Sam’s until COVID. At 84, he and RoseMary embarked on a cross country road trip to see family.

He is survived by his loving wife, RoseMary , his children, Rolanda (Bruce) Bjornson, Layne (Kelley) Lohman, Mialah (Jason) Hassard, Jalen (Angie) Lohman, Terran (Stephanie) Lohman and Rhett (Dora) Lohman, his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents John and Helen Lohman, brother Tom Lohman, Gary Lohman and sister Sue Gardner.
