Phillis Oliver

Phillis Lynn Oliver, age 60, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Phillis was born on October 15, 1963, in Thousand Oaks, California, and grew up in Wheatfield, Indiana. Later in life, she relocated to East Tennessee, where she found joy and peace in the beauty of the area as her family grew.
Throughout her life, Phillis was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose love for the Lord and passion for life touched everyone around her. She carried her love for God in everything she did, always finding comfort and guidance in her Bible studies and sharing her faith with others.
A woman of many talents, Phillis found joy in painting and crocheting, creating beautiful works that will continue to remind her family of her warmth and love. Her artistic gifts were matched by her dedication to her family, whom she cherished above all else.
Phillis is survived by her husband, Chris Oliver; her son, Josh Kerns and his wife Jessica; her daughter, Rebecca Howerton and her husband Josh; and her beloved grandchildren: Cadence, Joshua, Hayden, Madelynn, Liam, Aviah, and Elijah. Her legacy of love, faith, and creativity will continue to inspire them and all who knew her.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on October 19, 2024, at Fountain City Church, 2801 Holbrook Dr, Knoxville, TN 37918. There will be a receiving of friends from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm, followed by a service from 5:00 pm to 5:45 pm where the gospel will be shared. The gathering will conclude at 8:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her honor to Hope Resource Center www.investinghope.com/donate as a reflection of her generous spirit.
