Patricia Merritt

Patricia Ann Merritt, aged 66, passed away on September 26, 2024, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Born on December 6, 1957, Patricia was known for her kind, friendly, and outgoing personality, making friends everywhere she went.

Patricia dedicated her life to her family, embracing the role of a housewife with love and devotion. She was a proud graduate of Carter High School. Patricia had a passion for collecting various items and was an avid gardener who cherished tending to her flowers. Her pets, Charlie, Odie, Tabby, and Speedy, brought immense joy as she would chase after them.

She is survived by her loving husband, Melvin Merritt; her daughter, Tonya Gregory and her husband, Adam; her son, Melvin Merritt Jr.; her sisters, Carol Hoyt and her husband, Les, and Sandra Kay Merritt; her brothers, Danny Nicely and his wife, Donna, and Chris Nicely. Patricia was also a cherished grandmother to Courtney Ashby and her husband Josh, Lexie, and Austin Gregory, and a great-grandmother to Luka Ashby.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Ada May Nicely; her brother, Chester Nicely; and her son, Billy Merritt.

A service to celebrate Patricia's life will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 11 am at Foothills Funeral Home -910 Lincoln Road, Maryville, TN. 37804. Patricia's life was a testament to her loving nature and her legacy will live on through her family and all who knew her.
