Kathy Burnett, a beloved former housekeeper at Children’s Hospital, passed away on March 6, 2025, in her hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee, where she was born on May 18, 1960. Kathy will be remembered for her compassionate spirit, infectious laughter, and the warmth she extended to everyone she encountered.
A proud graduate of West High School in Knoxville, Kathy found joy in simple pleasures, especially during family fishing trips from her youth. Her love for the lake and her passion for fishing were not just hobbies but integral parts of her life that brought her immense happiness. Her kindness and welcoming nature made her a cherished presence amongst friends and family alike.
Kathy's greatest pride lay in her role as a mother and grandmother. She is survived by her son, Franklin III (Deanna) Burnett, and her son, Anthony (Tamara) Burnett. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Amber Burnett, Brooklyn Burnett, David Yount, and Bryson Kirkpatrick, all of whom were a source of immense joy and accomplishment for her.
Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Burnett Jr., as well as her father, Robert (Bob) Slover, her mother-in-law, Ruby Ketron, and her siblings, Sharon, Teresa, and Mike. Their memories remain cherished in the hearts of those who knew her. As we reflect on her life, we celebrate the laughter she inspired and the love she so generously shared. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
