Joseph Peter Treis, Jr. (Joe) age 78, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2024 at UT Hospital.
He was born October 30, 1945 to Joseph P. Treis, Sr. and Helen Treis in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was an only child.
Joe was a 1963 graduate of Fulton High School, participating in football and track. He attended ETSU and was a member of Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity.
Joe’s professional career began in manufacturing with Allied Chemical (formerly Jim Robbins Seatbelt). Later in his career he was a Loss Prevention Associate at Sears East Town Mall before his retirement in 2008.
Joe was a proud lifelong member of NRA, an avid Hunter and gun collector and a member of the Knoxville Moose Lodge 1560.
He was an avid UT sports fan, especially football. He and his wife Susie were football season ticket holders and attended UT football games for over 50 years. A favorite memory of his was attending the 1998 football Championship game in Tempe, AZ. For many years he was a passionate Dallas Cowboy fan.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents and leaves behind his surviving wife Susie King Treis. Children Joy (Tony) Whitt and Billy (Tiffany) Treis. 2 grandchildren Maggie and JD. One niece Vicki King and 2 nephews Matthew and Chuck King. He leaves behind 2 fur babies Rosie and Barkley.
Per his wishes no service will be held. A gathering of immediate family will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory can be made to Fulton High School Alumni Association or the NRA.
