Grace Elnora Anderson

Grace Elnora “Noey” McNish Anderson, age 87, passed away peacefully in her home on August 20, 2023. Noey to her family — and the many children and families whose lives she influenced — died on the land where she was born and spent most of her life in East Knox County, Tennessee.

A long-time member of First Baptist Church, Knoxville, where she and her husband, Bob, taught in the preschool department for many years.

Preceded in death by parents, Calvin and Neppie Parks McNish, foster sister Lora Hoffman, and three grandchildren, Trey, Katie, and Clay Lovell.

Left with a lifetime of happy memories are her husband of 59 years, Robert Dwight Anderson; children: Ann (Joe) Lovell and Tim (Ashley) Anderson; six grandchildren: Lauren and Alli Lovell, and Spencer, Deacon, Ava and Emma Anderson; brother Edward McNish; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 27, 2023, in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church, Knoxville, Tennessee. The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Noey to the preschool ministry of FBC Knoxville, the FBC Knoxville Generations Campaign, or a charity of your choice.
