Gloria Vanvalkenburg

Gloria Jean VanValkenburg, age 75, of Knoxville, passed away on December 16th, 2023. Gloria was born on December 30, 1947, to James Gillis Goans Sr. and Katherine Maxine Hardin. She was a Rule High School graduate of 1965 and retired with her loving husband from Indian Creek Boat Dock in Dandridge, TN.

She cherished memories made with family and friends. She was loved beyond belief and will be missed dearly.

She is preceded in death by her husband, George F VanValkenburg, parents James and  Katherine Goans, brothers Alvin Goans, and James Goans Jr. (Jimbo), and sister Tina Johnson.

She is survived by brothers Samuel Goans, and Steve Goans, and sisters, Donna Carmichael and Judy Buckner, Children, Mark Caldwell (Crissie) and Julie Faulkner (Shane) Grandchildren, Stephanie Evans (Zach), Shane “Bubba” Faulkner, Ashley Faulkner, Kylie Caldwell, and Kenzie Caldwell. Great grandchildren Lily Ann Evans. Beloved great grand dog, Charlotte Evans.

Services will be held at Home Faith Baptist Church. 5139 Rouse Lane, Knoxville, TN 37918 on December 30, 2023, with receiving of friends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and memorial services at 5:00 p.m.
