Evelyn M. Anderson, 97, was born on October 25, 1926 in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was an extremely independent and strong willed woman. She had a divine heart and a charitable soul. She would support you and help you navigate through any challenges you may encounter. Her passion for politics and pride of her country was of upmost importance, as she knew it will pave the way for future generations. She valued her right to vote. The importance of voting was vital to her; she made sure that she voted before she passed away.

With her wisdom, humor, compassion, guidance and love, she touched others lives in a profound way. Her deep love for her family will transcend the testament of time.
Her enormous love for all of God’s animals was selfless. God blessed our family for allowing her to impact our lives with her pioneering spirit, unwavering determination, guidance and gentle love for generations that came to grow with her. We are truly blessed to have her as a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.

God called her home on March 12, 2024. All of her children were at her bedside, as well as, Hospice Chaplain, Phil Gross, and her Hospice Nurse, Victoria. She passed away peacefully at home, which was her wish. We know she is walking in Heaven now with Our Father in Paradise with all of her relatives and friends.

Evelyn is proceeded in death by her husband Ralph E. Anderson (Andy), her mother Hazel B. Jeffries Sunker (mom mom), her father Joseph Green, her longtime stepfather R. J. Sunker,  her grandparents Alfred & Sarah Jeffries,  great grandmother Betty Tipton, and granddaughter Sarah Galloway.

She is survived by 3 children: David R. Sunker, Saundra G. Anderson (David Thomas), Lisa D. Downing (Jessie Downing). Her grandchildren: Paul Haynes (Lisa Ann Haynes), Denise Crowley (Rodney Crowley), Joseph Osterhout (Heather Osterhout), and Holly Downing Pendell (Sean Pendell), Josh Thomas (Kristen Thomas). She is also survived by her 15 great grandchildren: Travis Crowley, Brittney Crowley, Breanna Crowley, Taylor Hayes, Brandon Osterhout, Justin Osterhout, Andrew Kellar, Jordan Haynes, Dalton Haynes, Tyler  Smith, and Coty Smith, and Baer Thomas, Paisley Smith, Carter Smith, and Athena Smith. She is also survived by great great grandchildren, Bonnie Crowley, Autumn Jones, Addison Hayes, and Landon Hayes.

Evelyn will be missed, but our memories will carry us through until we meet in Heaven. We all love you so much; you will always be in our hearts.
