Corey was a loving and devoted husband. He had a heart for helping those who struggled with addiction which he developed into his work life, though he had many other skills doing waterproofing and carpentry. He had a lifelong passion for adventure and grew up surfing, skiing, and playing soccer. When we met, I was going through a very difficult time and he took care of me from day one and whenever I was worried or afraid, he would tell me “Everything is going to be okay”. He loved his neighbors (Dave and Monie), his mother (Marleen Baerns), and he loved sports. He was a wonderful athlete himself, and he especially loved the Lakers and Dodgers. But most importantly he loved Jesus. He expressed his love with acts of service, and he walked that out one day at a time. He was most content in nature and especially at the river. He spent the last few years of his life enjoying the comforts of home with (me) his wife Misty, stepsons Johnny and Jesse Newcomb, and his beloved pets Jack, Chaser, Bible, and Isabella

His memory will be forever cherished, and his presence will be greatly missed.
