Clarence Van Lair Smith

Clarence V Smith , aged 62 departed peacefully on Saturday Jan 7, 2023 at home. He was born December 15, 1960 in Hagerstown Maryland, was a graduate of South Hagerstown High School.  The son of Marilyn A Smith of Hagerstown Maryland and Harold Quivers of Chambersburg Pennsylvania,who preceded him in death.  Clarence was the oldest of four siblings, Samantha Miller (Hagerstown MD), Michael Anthony Garner (Hagerstown MD), and Jerry Lynn Smith (Knoxville,TN).  He is survived by 3 nephews, Michael Anthony Garner II (Hagerstown MD) Jaquan Marquise Smith (Knoxville, TN) and Brandon Evans (Knoxville TN), 2 nieces, Shantell Yvette Smith (Knoxville,TN) and Mariya Nicole Garner (Hagerstown MD), 2 great nephews and a great niece. Clarence found his pleasure in time spent with family and friends, with laughter and stories of the past.  Prior to his passing Clarence was employed by The University of Tennessee.  He will be missed by all he touched.
